As part of ongoing efforts to strengthen food systems and empower women in agriculture, the CASCADE Nigeria Project, in collaboration with the African Seed Company, organized a two-day intensive training on Soybean Production for women lead farmers in Dutse, Jigawa State.

The training focused on equipping the women with essential agronomic practices for effective soybean farming. The modules covered included:

- ✅ Seed Selection
- ✅ Seed Preparation
- ✅ Planting and Spacing
- ✅ Fertilizer Application
- ✅ Plant Population Management
- ✅ Harvesting Techniques

To reinforce learning, a hands-on practical session was conducted where participants engaged directly in:
- Preparing the land for planting
- Selecting quality soybean seeds
- Applying proper planting spacing
- Administering fertilizers and herbicides
The women lead farmers actively participated in planting soybean during the demonstration, translating theory into action. This initiative aims not only to boost soybean productivity but also to enhance the leadership capacity of women in agriculture, enabling them to serve as knowledge multipliers in their communities. The CASCADE Nigeria Project remains committed to climate-smart agriculture, nutrition-sensitive interventions, and gender inclusivity in all its engagements.
