Education is the bedrock of every society, and any nation that neglects the education of its people neglects its future. Education is for life and for living. It is an investment in people which pays untold dividends at the family, community and societal levels. FAcE-PaM is a non-profit and non-governmental organization which focus on the issues of Education, Poverty, and Malnutrition in Nigeria demonstrated its’ vision and mission by identifying with the Marti Community on the special occasion of Marti Day and appeal fund raising under the theme Education: A building block for the Community and National Development.
Statistics demonstrate how backward the northern region of Nigeria is in educational development, especially the North Eastern zone. This unfortunate situation is what attracted FAcE-PaM’s attention to seek the support and intervention of the Embassy of Japan to construct classrooms that now form the nucleus of the present Marti Community Secondary School. More so, FAcE-PaM through its BoT has offered to make additional contribution towards the completion of the assembly hall.
FAcE-PaM used the historic occasion to commend the Marti Development Association (MDA) for focusing on education and now expanding to public infrastructure leading to the commissioning of the bridge that will further serve as a link to less privileged communities. The essence of the bridge construction for FAcE-PaM is to provide access to disadvantaged children who are also leaders of tomorrow to educational facilities.
The historic ceremony afforded FAcE-PaM another opportunity to demonstrate its continuous interventions to provide infrastructure and support for less privileged individuals and communities thereby, promoting the desire for inclusive development
The occasion ended by acknowledging the commendable community development initiatives of MDA which was recommended for other communities in that area, state and other relatively backward communities. FAcE-PaM also promised to partner with MDA on other initiatives to create a voice for the voiceless with the believe that will guarantee equity and justice for all citizens regardless of social barriers like status, ethnicity, religion, gender and age.
